Oh! I have a really good Russian Apple Pie recipe!! ^^ I'm not sure how Russian it is compared to American Apple pies, but I know you use a whooooole lot of apples in it xD
Here's what I use (it's from online, but my family's been using it for a few years)
Apple Sharlott (essentially it's apple pie)
· Ingredients
CRUST:
1/2 c margarine
1 c sugar
2 eggs
3 c flour
3 ts baking powder
1/2 ts salt
FILLING:
18 ea large apples
cinnamon
1 cup sugar
· Method
Combine margarine & sugar in a mixer, add eggs. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add this to the first part, combine thoroughly. Make a ball of dough and put in fridge for 2 hours. Cut apples and add cinnamon and sugar.
Cut dough in half and roll 2 dough rectangles 13"x 9" Lower crust in a greased with oil pan. Put a layer of apples with cinnamon, sugar. Put the second dough rectangle on. Make holes in top crust before baking. Brush with yolk the top crust.
Bake at 350 for 50 minutes (until crust slightly golden). When baked, let cool down, better in freezer, to firm up before slicing.
