Beyblade Training, Anyone?

Postby Hiwatari_Kei08 on Tue Jan 15, 2008 8:42 am

So.

This is the new topic I mentioned in my last post in the 'Blading Experiences' thread. Anyway... all this blading talk reminded me of a 'training camp' thing we had at home - my siblings and I. The three eldest kids made at least 2 exercises that we'd all try to complete - with exceptions (mostly Raul-chan, since he was too young but wanted to join in anyway).

Probably the most difficult exercise was launching our respective blades into a plastic cup 2 inches in diameter. It was standing a little off-center - around 3 inches, I think - and the turntable itself was around 7 feat feet from us (we didn't have a lot of space). Yes, the thing was turning, so you can imagine how hard it is. To this day I'll never know how I got my Dranzer in the cup... O_o

At the end of the day, we tallied up our accomplished and failed exercises, each one with a corresponding stat. Yup, attack, defense, endurance. Not only did we find out what we also found out our most likely playing styles - which turned out to be pretty true.

- Rei-chan with modified Draciel F ---> defense; strategic play
- Kai-otouto with Driger F ---> endurance; strategic aggression
- Raul-chan with Dragoon F ---> attack; reckless
- and yours truly (Kei) with customized Dranzer F ---> balanced; varying play style

wtf@ Kai using Driger xD until now, I can't get used to that... all we need now is Kyouju (Kenny); we already have a Dizzi-type laptop (voice command-enabled, built-in camera... no blade analyzer-thing, though) =P

There's a few more, but I think I'll keep this post relatively short ^^; I wouldn't want to hog the spotlight...

...I fail to understand how this synopsis of a simple training session - and one that wasn't professionally-planned, mind you - is 'awesome'.

But I do appreciate the comment. And I'm speaking for my siblings, as well. Something nasty happened during that session, and it involved an obstacle course, running then jumping and launching one's blade... and a sprained ankle.

Basically, what we had to do was run a course using our blades to get rid of various small obstacles - stacked empty soda cans or glass bottles, cardboard boxes, etc. And then there were the 'human obstacles', or objects we had to jump over/crawl over/go around/climb, depending on the type. So, here's an overview of the entire thing.

- 3 meters half-jog or run, depending on blader's preference

- 1st Human Obstacle (hereby referred to as H.O) + 1st Small Obstacle (S.O) --> jump over wooden bench; launch blade upon landing; must knock down all three soda cans before proceeding

- 2nd H.O + 2nd and 3rd S.O --> knock down bottle on top of each of three hurdles before jumping or hoisting oneself over each one; knock down a small pyramid of medium cardboard boxes.

- 3rd H.O --> go through the passage created using five old wooden cabinets rigged to fall if any of ten tripwires is touched (O_o)

- 4th H.O + 4th S.O --> another wooden bench, this one higher than the first one; launch blade to go under the bench while blader jumps or hoists him/herself over the bench; must land at the other side of the bench in time to retrieve blade

- 5th H.O + 5th and 6th S.O --> dodge horizontally swinging wooden logs or planks; knock over glass bottle on platform at other end to fall in bucket on a springboard; slackened rope under springboard triggers release of swinging bucket (anyone up for a conk on the head); deflect bucket using blade, retrieve said blade.

- go back through the entire course, minus the all the S.Os.

I was about to finish the damn thing, but I landed wrong after jumping over the first bench before the 3 meter run to the 'finish line' to stop the clock. >.<

That was the day I began to suspect my twin bro had a hidden 'Boris Balkov' inside him, as he was the one who designed the obstacle course...

PS. Don't try making the obstacle course and running through it; safety precautions and such had not been taken into account during its creation, and so should not be attempted.

...wow :shock: can't say anything else about that... (though the sprained ankle wasn't good >.<)

:sweat: Heheh... yeah, pretty intense, given our aptitude - or should that be ineptitude? xD - at blading that time.

The sprained ankle wasn't all that bad; I sprained it on a Sunday and took off just Monday from school - yes, I could walk fine then.

...anybody else have experiences with Beyblade training?

HAH!

I remember that. He wanted me to go in as well, but there was no way I was going through that like some trained hamster. I told him to go sod his head.

He told me to go jump off the roof, but whatever.

Anyway, I think he solely regretted it after Kei sprained her ankle. It's called bad karma, I tell you.

But I do remember when we had a one-on-one-on-one (bleh. tongue twister) I placed cups as some sort of obstacle in the "dish" (living room floor xD) and that's kinda what got me and onii-chan knocked out immediately. But the funny thing was, since we OBVIOUSLY can't control our beyblades, it was more of a battle to see who could spin the longest.

Duh, Kei won. xD

Very impressive- all of you!

the only "training" i did a few years ago was with my friend when we were a little younger and still as dorky, haha. we'd battle against each other, and oddly I usually came out the victor. My favourites were Dranzer S and D, I think it was, and then I made an amazing combination using the base of Wolborg I and then the top of Wolborg II, it always came out a victory.
I think I actually broke a piece off of some kid's blade with it...o_O;

I also have a black dranzer ^^

Yeah, my siblings and I are a bunch of dopes. xD Ha~ the good ol' days where no one cared what frickin' age we were. Good times, good times...

...did I already mention that battle where I literally trashed Rei-kun's blade...?
